The nursing home visitation began many years ago when the late Bro. Virgil Ray Jennings asked the members of Russell Woods to participate in the worship rotation at the Pembroke Nursing home on Seven Mile Road in Detroit.  Pembroke, later known as Heartland Nursing Home, closed their doors in 2003. Members continued to provide this ministry by visiting and conducting a worship with the residence of the Little Rock Baptist Nursing Home on Woodward in Detroit, Michigan every month on the 2nd Sunday.

The Beloved Sis. Catherine Pendleton, a member of Russell Woods before God laid her to rest on October 28, 2005, was a resident at Little Rock.
